Browsing outside the current workarea

I know there are a lot of posts on this subject but I am unable to find a definitive version of some code that allows browsing within all branches in TeamSite that works for Windows. If anyone has a script that works on Windows I would be very grateful if they could attach it to this post.
We have TeamSite 5.5.2. on Windows 2000.
