sending Mail error in TS 6.1 on Solaris

I am trying to test the /$iw-home/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl that ships with Teamsite 6.1 on Solaris and can't seem to get it to work. I am entering the parameters on the command line and have ensured the server is able to send emails. Has anyone tried this command on a Solaris build of Teamsite 6.1:
/$iw-home/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl -f $any_email -t $any_email -s test 412. The 412 is just a dummy Workflow ID which will error out but the email should still execute.

are you executing that command from a command line? If so, you need to specify actual email addresses instead of $any_mail. The arguments of -f and -t expect a userid or an email address, not a variable name. Also, it looks like your mailserver settings aren't correct in iw.cfg (the @$.com part seems to indicate that).

I am executing on the command line and the $ is only used to mask the actual emails and domains that i type in. If someone could try to execute with there own emails and domains in place of my $ signs that would be of great help. Again, I actually do hardcode the actual domains and email addresses when executing on the command line. Thanks in advance.

Try editing the script to change: my($mailer) = new Mail::Mailer('smtp', Server => $$href{ms});to my($mailer) = new Mail::Mailer('smtp', Server => $$href{ms}, Debug => 1); and then run it from the command line - you'll get some debugging information sent to STDOUT showing the communications going on - in my case it appears it's evaluating the actual userid I'm logged in with on the actual machine to determine the sender - and it doesn't like it:...

I may have found a solution ... - in iwsend_mail.ipl - there's a section of code that looks like this: unless ($ENV{USER} || $ENV{LOGNAME}) {
$ENV{MAILADDRESS} = $headers{From};
} For me, anyway, removing the conditional and just always setting: $ENV{MAILADDRESS} = $headers{From}; seems to have worked just fine.

Please let me know if this works for you too.
