tsrookie has posted in the workflow forum aabout an issue that the workflow has been failing to deploy.

I am with the same client at the moment and would like to provide some more information

"Completed with error" means that you ran a non-transactional deployment and some of the files didn't get deployed.

The OD micro logs will tell you which files failed and should have some hints about why. For example, perhaps a target file was locked.

If you are using OD 5.6 or greater, you can also consult the deployment report (if reporting is enabled.)

I managed to change the clients workflow to do filelist deployments and most of their issues seem to have gone.

HOWEVER, I saw that sometimes, during (non-filelist) deployemnts, some files fail to deploy with the following message (in the log file):

I inspected the files, and could see no reason as to why one could fail. The offending files were not locked, BTW.

any ideas why this might be happening? The deployments are launched via the .ipl file that is in the solutions directory and seems to be dealing with some of the OD issues when starting from workflows.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what might be the cause here.

Is the error intermittent, or does that file always fail?

Which version of OD? Which platform(s)?

Do you see the problem when using iwodcmd or iwodstart from the bin directory?

You should probably open a case with tech support to see whether they can reproduce the problem.

this is OD 6. and I feel that it's somehow related with iwodcmd or iwodstart.

I had the following things happening - when I ran iwodstart, that '-1' response was exhibited with many files, with .ipl file (that employs iwodcmd) the problems have gone with filelist deployments, but do re-occur in full staging deployments situations. I forgot to mention that this happened for content deletions... The problem seems to be intermittent

we still have the case opened, tsrookie (Colin) has lodged a call last week, I believe...

Best bet is to try and have Tech Support recreate the problem so that someone from engineering can take a look. Sorry I couldn't provide more insight.
