How to stop verbose logging by OpenDeploy?
manugarg
Hi guys,
I am running into a weird problem. I have reduced Opendeploy logging level from verbose to normal and run iwodserverreset to let the changes take effect. But that is not solving my problem. Most of the users do deployment from GUI, and default there is always Verbose. None of them normally bothers to chenge it. Is there anyway to change that default in OpenDeploy GUI?
Following is the logRules element from my odbase.xml:
<logRules maxBytes="32mb"
directory="/www/opendeploy/OpenDeployNG/log"
level="normal"
/>
Thanks,

Unfortunately there is no way to default the UI selection to not be verbose. There's a feature request on file for this (#35695). I've attached your company to it.

Thanks Todd!
Actually we are in a serious problem. At the receiver i.e. our production web server, huge sized logs are being created by OpenDeploy. As it seems, the configuration is not correct at that end, but still defaults are not being applied. Some logs are as huge as 650 MB is size, while as per default max size should be 32 mb. I want this log revolving feature to work to ensure that I can run a cron job to delete or archive old logs.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,

Try setting the log rollover threshold in the receivers too.
Also note that the logs will probably not rollover mid-deployment. So if a particular deployment has lots of files, the log files could get larger than the threshold limit before rolling over.
If you're having trouble getting it to work, perhaps Tech Support can assist with getting it configured properly.
