opendeploy 6.0 reverse deployment
skapelle
Hi,
has anyone experience in doing a reverse deployment between an opendeploy 6.0 base server (WIN 2000) and an opendeploy 5.6sp1 receiver (AIX5.1)?
Normal deployments work but i can't get reverse deployments working.
LOG:

Maybe someone can help ...
Thanks,

For the reverse deployment to work, you will have to specify the reverse target's host name in the allowedhosts section of odbase.xml or odrcvr.xml(on reverse source).

The reverseSource is already defined in the allowedHosts section of the deployment initiators odbase.xml. Also the opendeploy service is already restarted.
Identifier
We ran into the exact same issue today. We had OD5.6 (SP1) base server with OD5.5.1 receiver in a reverse deploy scenario. To get this working, we had to use a fully qualified server name instead of an alias in the odbase.xml file. But this week, we upgraded our receiver from 5.5.1 to 5.6 (SP1) and this deployment stopped working. Then we changed the fully qualifed name to an IP address in the odbase.xml file, as well as used IP addresses in odrcvr.xml and the deployment configuration. Though it is silly to use IP addresses, it works.
