Full Garbage Collection from OpenApi ?
nipper
Hey
We are making some openapi calls from a WLS & are getting some serious memory leaks.
One thing we have noticed is that when we initiate our call we get a FullGC:
Please find attached a java class that when run with verbose:gc option set makes call to FullGC every one minute. Is this any problem with the way calls are made to the openapi or any other configuration changes need to be applied in order to avoid the FullGC calls?
TIA
Andy

Does this java app work? looking at the code it should actually be
String accessServiceName = "rmi://" + host + ":1099/IWAccessService";
accessService = (IWAccessService) (IWService.locate(accessServiceName));
I assume you are running this from a system where TeamSite is not installed
Let me know if this helps

Yes, the app works. The big problem is that we a chewing up alot of memory on the
other system & the full GC is part of it.

What version of TeamSite including service packs are you running? That information may be helpful.

Sorry TS 552 SP4 on SOlaris 2.8
filed a case with support as well, have not heard anything

I am not aware of any memory leaks in OpenAPI. If you have opened a case with Interwoven support, please make sure that you include a prstat/top memory trace of the program over a period of 4-5 hours of running your application (maybe in a loop).
