TS 6.01 on Solaris

I would like to implement workflow datacapture validation which makes a field required based on the value of another form field. I believe this is possible using the valid_input element on the TAG_info field, but cannot get it working.

Here is what I have so far:

my($radio_default_yes_html) = "<input type='radio' value='yes'checked>yes</input>" .
"<input type='radio' value='no'>no</input>";

I'm not sure if it will work - but you can try using __VALUE__('iw_agency_pre_rvw_req') within your field_validator() subroutine to access the other fields value. This is just a guess (i.e. untried) as it is probably somewhat dependent on the order in which the wft gets processed (2 to 3 times) and if it seems to work at first, verify that it works with different settings for iw_agency_pre_rvw_req just to be sure it's doing what you want.

I have the exactly similar requirement and trying to follow the same procedure of calling a subroutine to validate the 2nd field based on the value of the 1st field. I have also used __VALUE__ tag to gather the value for the 1st field inside the validator subroutine.

But this is still not working.

I did get it working. If yes is selected as the value for a radio button, the drop-down becomes a required field (i.e. The user cannot selecte "other" in the drop-down).

In my wft file I have:

This is working, but I originally planned to have a blank element in the dropdown (instead of "other". I could not get it to work that way, so I added "<option value="other">none" to my($sponsor_html). Hope the information helps.
