OpenDeploy 6.0 receiver upgrade
NathansDIS
Is it necessary to install the OD CSF before upgrading an OpenDeploy 5.6 receiver to OpenDeploy 6.0? Thanks in advance for your time.

BTW, we are on a Windows 2000 server platform.

You can upgrade the OD receiver independently from CSF.
You only need one CSF on your network when you intend to use the OD 6.0 admin UI and/or you intend to write a web services client program that will make calls to any OD 6.0 base servers or receivers.
If you want to access the OD 6.0 receiver via the admin UI, then you must upgrade the admin server to 6.0, which requires CSF. But the installs of all components can happen in any order.

We have CSF installed on the server that is running the Base and Admin OD 6 servers. If we just upgrade our receivers to OD 6.0 now and skip adding CSF, will it be possible for us to add CSF to the receiver servers later if we decide to use web services to access the OD 6 receiver? Thanks again for your input.

You won't need to install additional CSF's. You just need the one you've already installed. CSF is just the access service for authenticating users who either login via the admin UI or access a web services client app.
But even if you didn't already install CSF, you can install the OD 6 receivers now and add CSF later.
