preview or generate doesn't give desired output

Hi
I am having a wierd problem. I am trying to generate the index page using a set of DCRs. When I run the presentation template using the CLT iwpt_compile.ipl with -ocode, and then run the ipl, I get the desired output, no errors. But through the GUI it doesn't give me the same output when i click on either preview or generate ( no errors, just doesn't display the links to the DCRs).
Background: I copied the same DCTs & PTs which works in TS 5.5.2 to the new TS 6.1 env & also the dcrs and then set the EAs on them. I am using the old "iwov" style DCT in the new env. I am not sure what is causing this but this code should have worked in the new env, correct? I am using the perl "foreach" to go through the dcrlist and this list is huge(Maybe this is causing this?) and I use iwpt_output to output the content. Is there an alternative?

When i run the iwpt_compile.ipl, I get all the content, but when I try to preview or generate, I get "No news releases are available. Please check back later"
Can anybody help?

My guess would be differences in the environment and/or permissions between when you run it on the command line and when you run it through the UI. Can you modify the TPL to dump the env to a file, run it in both modes, sort and compare? You may have to set something.

Weird though because you're just scanning the file system, not accessing a database, right?

Looks like your array @pr_list does not have any elements in it. How are you generating that array ?

yes, it seems to me that way but the wierd thing is that I am able to get the desired output through the iwpt_compile.ipl.

I figured it out. The problem was that my $area_dir was starting from /.iwmnt & this failed for iwextattr CLT. Kinda wierd.

Pre-6.0 CGI's get the non-caching mount point /.iwmnt in the paths provided to them - and most CLTs want vpaths (/default/main/...) rather than file-system paths (/.iwmnt/default/main/...) - some of the CLTs that want vpaths will actually accept cached-file-system paths (/iwmnt/default/main/...) but it's generally not a good idea to do so (that capability may go away in the future without notice, as it is technically a bug).

TS6 CGI's get the "new-style" vpath which is //servername/default/main. A quick test with iwextattr on a 6.1SP1 Solaris box seems to show that it works either way (so you'd actually only need to strip-off the //servername part when wanting to convert the vpath to a file-system path - and then you should replace it with the value returned from iwgetmount or TeamSite::Config::iwgetmount()).

Gidday All,

What we are trying to do is use File::Find to traverse directories below where an index page is generated.

First thing is to get the start path to begin the traverse and this is not working can you help please? I don't get any entries in list we are using TS6.1 on solaris.

Im sorry I read Fish's previous post and still don't understand what path to use.
