FrontOffice SSL connection

Hi All,

Our TeamSite installation (v6.5) is serving ContentCenter over SSL - no problems there --at the minute Smiley Happy

I've just installed FrontOffice Server and was about to install the client on my workstation when I noticed at the bottom of the 'TFO install' page that it says that SSL is not enabled, although it definitely is for CCStd and CCPro.

I've had a look around (the documentation and the .cfg files) and I can't find a setting specifically for enabling SSL on TFO, iw.cfg already has the entry:

[iwwebd]
default_protocol=https

But that appears to have no effect.

Any ideas on how I can force TFO to use SSL? Or, can I just enter the SSL port in the FrontOffice client Configuration Wizard?

First thing to make sure is you've got SSL enabled for TeamSite. Out of box SSL is enabled, but the ceritificate used is a faked one, you need to configure it based the admin manual instruction.

Since FrontOffice is being enabled through a section in the apache iw-webd section in the httpd.conf file, it should be working just fine as long as SSL is enabled for TeamSite. If the default port (443) is used, you can just check on the SSL selection from FrontOffice configurator. If port used is not default, put in the correct port being used.

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, TeamSite is running over HTTPS with a valid certificate on the default SSL port.

When I select SSL in the 'TFO Config. Wizard: Server Settings' dialogue and hit OK, IWServerProxySvc crashes, I cancel the 'Please tell Microsoft' dialogue and I get an IWOV dialogue telling me to contact my TeamSite administrator -- that's me!! Rats...

I'm sure I must be just missing a config setting somewhere, I just can't think of anywhere else to look.

Front-Office presents the option of using SSL from within the Configuration Wizard. You must open the Cofig Wizard and click the "Settings..." button, then check the box next to "Use a secure SSL connection" and click OK.

You don't need to do any special configuration for TFO on the server side. But, at each client side, after TFO client is installed on each machine, users need to check a check box for using SSL in the configuration wizard.
