TeamSite 6.1 migration from 5.5.2 can't edit files

I am in the process of upgrading to TeamSite6.1 and have developed a problem. I have installed TeamSite6.1 and copied over the backing store. All of the files are there but I cannot create or edit any files.

I suggest you contact Support. Chances are we could ask a whole bunch of questions to draw out answers from you and then provide ideas for how to resolve it - but it might be faster just to get Support on the phone and work with them to resolve it.
