iPod contest - no new entries for June

System

Just a heads-up that there are no new people qualifying for the June iPod drawing to date. That's good news for the folks who've already submitted their 3, but I'd love to see some more contributions. Remember, you don't have to be active on the forums to submit content for the library.

You can find out about the contest here:

Good luck all!

Regards,

lissa

In other words, in order to keep up the fix and not award the iPod to one of the three biggest whiners in DevNet, could somebody please submit an article on any subject at all so we can make sure someone we like gets the prize.

I'm here to help decipher anything Interwoven says. Smiley Happy

Seems to mirror what we thought.

The Winner is ABS (Anybody But Smitty)

well you could assume the worst about me, but that would be sad. I just want to see the external articles help folks out. I was really excited by the great turnout the first month, and i've been bummed that we have not had any new ones since the end of May.

Frankly, I don't care who wins the iPod, although I'd like to see one of the stalwart forum contributors win. But of course, the drawing is in fact impartial. I put all the names in a hat and ask someone whose name is not in it to reach in and pick one!

And yes, the sizes of paper are all the same. And no, there are no extra folds or creases or curled edges on any paper.

Good luck all.

Oh Lissa, we're just teasing you about the drawing. I know you well enough to know you have integrity and won't do anything underhanded. It's all in good fun.

Agreed. You are in marketeering so that becomes the **** of the jokes now & then, but I do not beleive you would really
do anything underhanded. We just need something to complain about.

Give me a dev license and I'll write 5 articles. GIve me a lottery chance at an iPod...

Migrateduser

I'm kinda with JimmyFat on this one... I'd much rather have a developer license for TeamSite (that never expires) than an iPod. I know this may come as a shock to some of you, but there are people out here that like Interwoven MUCH more than we like Apple. :-)

You guys are such troopers....doesn't a dev license cost about $10,000 or so more than an iPod? The sacrifices you make...

Yes, as unhappy as I am with Interwoven, somehow Apple is even worse. For instance I left my powerbook unplugged for a couple of weeks, when I turned it back on it told me the date was set to something pre-2000. I think IBM solved that problem with a 50 cent battery about 20 years ago. Plus, a dev license is free to IW and an ipod costs money to both parties (IW acquisition, user batteries).

Migrateduser

Well, I'd be happy if it was just a single user license. I only want it so that I can do development. Not like I'd have a whole team of developers working on it or anything. :-)

Yea but.

If you work for a decent sized consulting company, they can afford to get a dev license for their group of
consultants. However when you are a complete independent, there is no way I could fork out that kind
of money for a dev license. Heck it takes a week to make the much.

So to IW, what does it cost to give out a consultant single user dev server ? THe cost of the CD/download
(next to nothing) minus the lost revenue opportunity (which again is zero for independents).

I do wish IW would make a "personal instance", non transferrable, for a few hundred dollars, won't make a
ton of revenue from it, but will keep the people who make their products work, up to date.

Note to Interwoven:

With all these whiny contractors who can afford an iPod by simply working one hour of OT, remember who is quietly sitting back, willing to accept the wonderful gift you have probably already bought, with much thanks and appreciation. I ask you for nothing more than what you offer.

I do believe you have my current shipping address.

My most humble regards,

Smitty
