Moving a branch

Hello All,

We are planning to move an existing branch from one backing store to another on the same server.

Has anyone every tried this before. Thanks for all your help.

What version of TeamSite?
Are you talking about using MultiStore? If so - are you licensed for it (or received approval for temporary usage)?

If you're using multi-store - you need to look at the CLT documentation for 'iwmigrate' -- but read the Usage information rather than looking at the example at the bottom of the page - because the example shown is incorrect with respect to the argument given to the '-m' flag.

Also - remember that the *target* store needs to be deactivated (iwstoreadm -d storename) before you attempt to migrate a branch there.

I agree with fish here :-)

If possible, you should definitely try out iwmigrate on a DEV server first... it took me a whole afternoon playing around (5.5.2 on solaris), to understand the little subtle and/or undocumented details of iwmigrate. And indeed there are a few documentation errors, probably because iwmigrate is (looks like) an evolved version of iwconvert (5.0 -> 5.5 store migration)
