XML::Simple Parsing problems in TS6.1

Under 5.5.2 I had no problems using XMl: Smiley Frustrated

imple to open up a DCR's XML in a script and extract tags.

Under 6.1 it seems to be having problems with an 'iwov' DCR.

All these DCR's insert the following line in the XML

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE record SYSTEM "dcr4.5.dtd">
<record name="partnerships-channel-asp" type="content"><item name="OwnerEmail">

The !DOCTYPE throws out the parsing routines. Removing this by hand allows XML Smiley Frustrated

imple.pm to tun correctly.

Am I missing something, anyone shed any light on this problem.

Well TS 6.1 did upgrade the version of perl it uses to Perl 5.8.2 (over 5.005_03) so I would image there could be some changes to the XML: Smiley Frustrated

imple perl module that you might want to start with.

Something musta changed. The new version of the parser (I think) tries to validate the dtd and fails.

I've decided to go with a code rewrite, as below, unless anyone has a neater solution,


use TeamSite::XMLparser;
open(DCR, "PATH_TO_DCR") or die("$! - Cannot open DCR (r)...get helpfrom the teamsite admin");

my $xml = <DCR>;
close DCR;

You should scope the change of $/ to limit its effect.use TeamSite::XMLparser;

I have solved this by setting up SGML_SEARCH_PATH environment variable to point to the iw-home/config
directory where iwov.dtd's are.

XML: Smiley Tongue

arser is using the above variable to find dtds.
