Automatic refresing of TODO list

Hi,
The requirement is something complex from TS point of view.
The Authors donâ€™t want to keep their selves busy by pressing refresh button and monitoring the status of workflow.
They want automatic refreshment of ToDo list (same as refresh/view -> All Job) by some time interval.
How to achieve this, is it possible or I am running out of luck?

I think you might be able to accomplish this with either a hack solution or development of your own utility.

The hack solution would be a custom menu item that you select and let run continually, in which it loops and requests the parent window to redraw/refresh.

The development solution would be to use CSSDK or even basic Perl code to continually loop over the output of iwgetwfobj (perhaps TeamSite::WFsystem?) and do it's own rendering of the information - instead of using TS's To Do List -- kind of a workflow system monitoring console.

I've actually thought about doing the latter several times over several years - but never really had the proper motivation to actually do it.

You might be able to achieve this by modifying the jsp file myteamsite.jsp in iw-home\httpd\webapps\content_center\ccstd\portal, in order to always keep you changes, put this file first under iw-home\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src\web\ccstd, then run" iwperl iw-home\bin\make_toolkit.ipl -jsp_precompile" to make the change effective.

You can modify the myteamsite.jsp file to add an html header to allow it to refresh every certain minutes. You do not want to set this number too small since it is going to add a lot of uneccessary load to the server. Also, this change is not supported, when doing upgrade, you need to make the change against the new file.

I have not test this out myself, just a thought here, but guess worth a try for you.

hjin was assuming TS6.
I was assuming TS5 - though the ideas probably apply to TS6 as well.

You really need to get in the habit of making sure you indicate the version of the product(s) you are using (including SP's and patches, etc.) and platform information too.

I tried with ur code and it works beautifully , but when i click on the startRefesh button, both the buttons (start/stop) disappears. Do I have to do any settings before running this Refresh.

I have not looked at tsdriver.html before (so could be wrong) but since its named tsXXXXX i am assuming its one of the supplied teamsite files. Therefore soemthing to note that after every patch the file could have been overwritten and therefore the code will need to be re-implemented.

Hi,
May be you are correct, but as TS 5.5.2 not providing any direct way to do this and client are asking for such functionality then you have to do it any how.

I am not sure about patches is going to effect or not but you can update your version after each patches applied.

I know by cracking the Environment is not a good way to achieve functionality but customer are paying and least concern about this things.
Also I am not finding any implication on the environment by this implementation.
