Deployment Fails When Using Admin UI

Hi,
My Deployment script fails when started from OD Admin UI (OD 6.0) . However the same configuration executes successfully through command line.

I'd say the issue here is to add debugging code to your DNR script (ddsync.ipl) to find out what's happening and/or check the DataDeploy log file.

One possibility I can think of off the top of my head though (since this happened to us about a year or so ago) - is if you have a fan-out deployment (i.e. 2 or more nodes defined in a single replicationFarm for the deployment) and you're trying to call the DD script as part of this deployment - it will probably fail when you are adding new content. The reason for this is that the script will actually get run once for each node in the replication farm and in all cases it will be attempting to do an INSERT - but as soon as the script is run once on one node, the INSERT will no longer work for any other node because now it will have to be an UPDATE.

What we did is created *two* replicationFarmSets, one with only 1 node, the other with all the remaining nodes; we duplicated the definition section (e.g. DEF1, DEF2) and then for the execDeploymentTasks we made sure that that execing of the deployment definition with 1 node had the DNR script associated with it, whil e the other execDeploymentTask had no DNR associated with it.

I'm not sure if the above is clear - but if you think this might be the problem you're running into - feel free to ask questions to get a better understanding of this solution.

Could also be that your DNR requires specific user permissions not being granted when running the Admin UI to execute the deployments.
