space in the item name

cheeku

I set the inner xml of an item using following two approaches:

$node->set_inner_xml("<withoutspace>ABCD</withoutspace>");

This sets the inner xml , but when I do this :

$node->set_inner_xml("<with space>ABCD</with space>");

It does not set the inner xml. Can i not set the inner xml having spaces in item names? Is there any workaround ?Because I have already coded the DCTS which have items having spaces in their names.

Isnt that invalid xml???

I thought a valid tag name must have no white space in it?
