Keep track of selected files from teamsite

artor

Hi All,

I want to check that User select the file in the teamsite or not? I am just reading the documentation and I can't find any parameter which can say that this file is selected of file is not selected in teamsite workarea because I have to show the error message in my customize script to remind user for error, please select file.

If anybody knows this please let me know, I appreciate this.

Nauman

What do you mean select the file ? Check the box & run a script ? If this then check the custom menu item
showenv.cgi. If you select a file & run that CGI, it passes info about what file was selected.

hi,
Actually I have already put a button in menu bar and I am running the script from that button.
But when user see the list of the files in teamsite and user selects some files by using the check box and then run my script from the above mentioned button. I have to keep track that user selects the files or not with the help of checkbox . so how can i track the informtion because once the user selects the file .it shows in the vpath but if user doesn't select the file then vpath shows the directory structure where the user currently accessing.
So I only need that checkbox information correspond to the file.
I think this help you to understand my proble.

Which version of TeamSite are you using, and which UI?

It is terrible that either question must be asked for such trivial and common functionality.

Can anyone explain the problem? I can't understand what the original poster is having trouble doing.

My guess would be there's a CGI that posts to itself (maybe it gathers a submit comment or something) - the first time TeamSite posts to the CGI it passes all the file paths, but when it posts back to itself there appear to be no files selected. One solution to that particular problem is to write hidden variables path_x into the main form, one for each file (at least in all versions of TeamSite I've worked with - 6.x scares me though). But I agree with you, the problem statement is not written well and in general we should respond to posts like that by asking them to run the iw diagnostics, then not following up (kindof like an award winning support site).

Now that was funny. And you also answered the guy's question. Everybody wins.

This is clearly 6.x - yes?

I believe that you can use the following "logic":...
use TeamSite::CGI_lite;
...
my $cgi = TeamSite::CGI_lite->new();
$cgi->parse_data();
my $cwd = $cgi->{form}{'cwd.vpath'};
my $vpath = $cgi->{form}{vpath};
if ($cwd eq $vpath){
# Nothing pre-selected
}
elsif (ref($vpath) eq "ARRAY"){
# vpath is a reference to a list of selected file vpaths
}
else {
# vpath is a single selected file vpath
}

You can take advantage of cgi_lite to tunnel form variables back and forth.

use TeamSite::CGI_lite;
use strict;

#Turn buffering off.
$| = 1;

my $cgi          = new TeamSite::CGI_lite;       $cgi->parse_data();

my @exclude = (); # this is emitted explicitly by our CGI
my $other_tunneled_data = $cgi->get_implicit_data_tunnel_html(@exclude);

my $buffer;

$buffer =<<EOHTML;
Content-type: text/html

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body onLoad="document.forms[0].submit();">
         <FORM NAME="template_action" ACTION="/iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/iwnewjob.cgi" METHOD="POST">

$other_tunneled_data

         </form>
    </body>
</html>

EOHTML

print $buffer;
exit(0);

I havent found anything as easy as that in Java, but you can use the JSTL tag libaries fairly easily to do this as well.

Well thanks to everyone especiall ghoti.. I already solved the problem as ghot mentioned. which i also read in some documents.
cwd.vpath and vpath both are equal if no files and directory selects from teamsite otherwise they are different.
Thanks to everyone again.
