Binary files use all bandwidth, denying other apps

Hi,

we are deploying over a line with limited bandwidth & shared with other apps.

When we deploy large binary files the full line is used by the deployment denying other apps to use the same line. This only seem to happen with the large binary files, normal smaller text files seem to work OK.

Does anybody have any experience with this problem?
Any hints?
Any hints for a "bandwidth limiter" (hard- or software)?

Although it doesn't help with your immediate problem, OD 6.0.2 (beta coming soon) will include a bandwidth throttling transfer rule and the ability to perform bye-level incremental deployments. This latter feature only transfers the changed bytes for files, so a small change to a large file consumes much less network bandwidth.

Something that you can take advantage of in OD 5.6 is the compression feature. That should reduce the number of bytes going over the wire.
