refresh time for iwgroup changes

I am starting to evaluate an upgrade to TeamSite 6.5. Today is "iwgroup" day. After using the iwgroup command to add/remove someone from a group, I have noticed a bit of a lag for the change to take effect. For 10-30 seconds the user will either still have acces, or not be able to access a file that they should be able to edit. Since this is on a dev server with little content and little load, I am wondering what the experience would be like on a production system with 1000's of users and gigs of content. Has anyone else noticed lag times after making changes using the iwgroup clt? Is there a way to force a refresh faster (iwreset?)

Also, will the use a iwgroups decrease performance through the GUI or filesystem?
