IIS 6.0 - Windows 2003
IWguy
Hello,
I have installed TS 6.1 - SP1 on a W2K3 - Standard Edition server (latest patches). All is fine except when I click on the file name (whether it be text or html file) in the workarea. IIS tries to display the file but I end up getting a "You are not authorized to view this page" message (error 401).
Teamsite successfully ran the IIS configuration script with all the defaults (default website being used on Port 81).
Anonymous access is enabled with the proper user name and password (TSIMP_<hostname>) with no authentication access options selected.
I can edit the file but I cannot view it by clicking on the file name within Teamsite. Also, I am logged in as Administrator on the OS and logged in with Master rights on Teamsite.
Is this an IIS 6.0 administration issue?
Thanks,
D

Is the impersonation user TSIMP_hostname user part of the TeamSite Web Preview group? This definitely looks like a permission issue if anonymous access using TSIMP user has already been set up.

Yup - part of it with full access.
So I did find the solution and I thought I would write back to let you know in case anyone else comes along to it. Chalk it up to my newbiness with IIS 6 and I did not realize I had to enable sub-authentication. The client I was working at is not using AD for this app at the moment and the server was setup as base by the time I got there.
This link provides the info on how to enable the proper access

i have this exact same problem.
But the solution below doesn't work for us. Any other ideas why IIS 6 responds with
"You are not authorized to view this page" ??
to work around this, I have to set up "integrated windows authentication" in IIS and give my id and password to view any files in a work area even though I have full permissions and always have.
I also tried to change the tsimp_phsweb149 account to a global domain account and no luck sitll.
So in short, I have the correct IIS settings and wide open workarea permissions and it won't let me view them.
Any ideas?
Keith.

Hi all,
we had the same problem (error 401...)
If we got this error, our TSIMP-account was locked.
So we found out, that the TSIMP-password is set incorrectly in the IIS settings (iwmount properties -> Directory Security -> Edit)
We set the TSIMP-password to the correct value and and from there on everything is ok.

we have just finished an install onto teamsite 6.1, wk2003 and have come up with this problem
Searched the forum and did everything as suggested and still facing the " you are no authorised " error
We set up integrated windows authentication and still this error is persistent - and now its for both xml and html files
can you please give a solution so that a newbie like me can understand
thanks in advance
