Renmaing a lot of files.
RichieRich
I'm in the mist of lower casing over 100,000+ files using the /.iwmnt mount on Solaris TS 5.5. My concern is how will this affect TS when I do a submit direct. Will there be two versions of each file? e.g., Mixed case file and the lower case file? If so, what's the proper way to achieve this.
Thanks.

Depends how you do a submit direct.
when you rename FOO to foo, you now have 2 modified files, foo (new) and FOO (deleted) -
otherwise known as a hole.
You will not see FOO (deleted) unless you do a compare or view modified.
Your idea of massive rename followed by a submit direct of the complete workarea (to get the holes)
is a good idea. do not select any files, just submit at the top of the WA.
WHat ever you do, DO NOT VIEW MODIFIED.
For 200K files, will never complete.

Do you have 100,000+ files in a single workarea/branch ?
If you rename a file and submit, it will be a new version.

Well, I won't be renaming *all* 100,000 files, but yes it wil be in a single Branch with multiple workareas.
I can update one workarea and do a get lastest on the other workarea's.
The over all purpose is to achieve the following:
1. Lower case all relative links, lower case all absolute links that are for certain websites, and make each site secure by appending https.
2. Preserve all permissions (I also have submit.cfg configured, but I made this program generic to preserve permissions.)
3. Lower case all files and folders.
We're moving content from NT to Solaris and we're going to make the entire site secure. So we're going to enforce all files and links to be lower cases. The current developer didn't do that and created files with mixed cases.

After you're done with your submit - you might want to take the server down and run iwfsck -d on the backing store and then bring it back up and run iwfsshrink... nothing specific about the issue being dealt with, just general advice when mucking around that much.
