Data Deploy and Deltas

I'm new to DataDeploy. Our platform is TS 6.1 and DD 5.6 on Solaris. We're using DataDeploy in standalone mode to deploy custom xml DCR's from TS to our database. It all works fine so far.

We have one concern though. It's unclear from the documentation whether DataDeploy will only deploy DCR's that have been modified or if it will always deploy everything. This is a concern as there are 10,000's of records in some of our categories and we don't want the deploy process to be inordinately long. It looked like there was some kind of delta process with DAS but apparently we can't use that with our user defined schemas.
