Directory is present or not

Hi All,

I am writing the code to copy the file from one directory to another directory and all codes are working fine if the directory already in the teamsite.
But I'm having a problem where the particular directory where have to copy the file is not present. I have got the CSAreaRelativePath.
I just want to know that how can i check if the particular directory is not present in the teamsite? otherwise I will create the directory by using CSDir.

CSObjectNotFoundException is not a right approach from my code.
I really appreciate ur input.

I think you are after this method from CSNode

Different node types have a static variable called KIND

you can check CSDir.KIND or CSSimpleFile.KIND etc


getKind
public int getKind()
            throws CSObjectNotFoundException,
                   CSExceptionReturns this node's type. 
For example: 

     if (CSNode.getKind() == CSSimpleFile.KIND)
         System.out.println("Found Simple File");
 Returns:
an int describing the type of node.
Throws:
CSObjectNotFoundException - if the server cannot find this node
CSException - if the node type cannot be returned for any other reason

CSNode is the underlying class, meaning your CSFile object inherits that method.

In other words you can use that method on a CSFile object

Thanks john so from the same instance of CSFile or CSNode..how can i create the CSDir object in order to create the directory.

CSDir dir = (CSDir)client.getFile(CSVPath("/default/main/WORKAREA/wa/dir"));

I've pretty much have gone through the JAVADocs to answer these questions.
It might be worth your while to familarise yourself with the API layout.
