Message Board Solution?

Another business unit contacted us asking if there was any way to create a "community message board' on the Intranet. Any easy request w/o worrying about TeamSite, but sadly. We must!

Has anyone had any experience / brainstorms, etc... with a similar issue. The primary concern is archival as we are a financial services firm. A valid solution would have to somehow integrate into TeamSite for archival in editions, and some level of workflow / approval.

We have two "collaborative document management" applications: WorkSite (also called WorkSite NT) and WorkSite MP. They have similar capabilities, but the first is for Windows only, and the second is a "multi-platform" J2EE version.

I believe that they both have "WorkSpaces" in the base product, where the workspace is a secure area in which a group can share documents, calendars, issues lists, task lists, email messages, contacts, and lots of other items about which I have little or no knowledge.

Our sales staff should be happy to give you all of the information you could possibly want. And they (unlike me) will know where to find it.
