Eliminating hard coding URLs in TS 6.1 GUI customi

We have development and production TeamSite environment. Initial we upgraded development TeamSite from TS 5.5 to TS 6.1 and then now we are upgraded production TeamSite from TS 5.5 to TS 6.1.
We need to move the TS 6.1 GUI customization from Dev to Prod. In the ui_custom.xml file all URLs are hard coded to point to Dev server. Now when ever we move customization from Dev to Prod we need to manual change the links to Prod. I hered there is a way to eliminate this â€œhard coding and modifyingâ€�.
If any one knows this, please help me.

Do you have any need to include the server name in the URL?

Couldn't you just use


/some/url

instead of


http://servername/some/url

Do you do this for all URL's including your website content?

We have Dev (intdev.abc.com) and Prod (intpro.abc.com) servers installed with TS, OD and DD. Through TS GUI Link we call TS Admin GUI, OD Admin GUI and DD Admin GUI. For this in Dev ui_custom.xml file will have links with url=http://intdev.abc.com/iw/tsadmin, url= http://intdev.abc.com:8081/iw/opendeploy, and url= http://intdev.abc.com:8085/iw/datadeploy respectively.
I need to make this server name(intdev.abc.com) not hard coded everywhere. Say we can define it at one place and call it every where. So I need to change only at one place when I move the ui_custom.xml file to Prod, I need to modify at only one place.

You have told about tag â€œpreâ€�, is it a custom tag?
Please can you tell me how to do this?

I haven't checked the UI guide to see if there is some sort of key/tag that represents the host name (sometimes that's not even the real name if you are behind some sort of proxy etc)

All I can think of is to create a servlet/cgi that forwards the client the right url based off some config entry.

Though it seems a little too complicated than need be.

Perhaps you could use something like the output of: iwconfig iwwebd host
in order to get the hostname of the TeamSite server as its defined in your iw.cfg file, and then stick that into your URL?

I am not able to call a custom JSP from a link in ui_custom File.
1) I created a custom JSP RedirectURL.jsp and put it in the path <iw-home>/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/src/
2) added the definition given below in the web.xml located in <iw-home>/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/etc
<servlet>
<servlet-name>RedirectURL</servlet-name>
<jsp-file>/RedirectURL.jsp</jsp-file>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>RedirectURL</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/iw/opendeploy/login</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
3) The ui_custom File had the following definition
<link id="cus.common.ODAdminGUI.link"
label="OpenDeploy GUI"
description="OD Admin GUI"
url="/iw/opendeploy/login"
target="_blank">

When I click the link from GUI am getting the error message as saying "unable to locate the /RedirectURL.jsp file".
I feel there is a problem in the mapping between the JSP location and the link.
Please any one can tell me how a custom JSP can be called.
