OD 6.0 and 5.6 using SNMP
bturns
Sender: OD 6.0, Solaris 8
Receiver: OD 5.6, AIX 5
We've had some trouble lately with a process running on our AIX machine (OD Receiver).
/usr/sbin/aixmibd (Simple Network Management Protocol)
spawning dozens of defunct processes as root, which is a problem.
"There is a problem with the current level with bos.net.tcp.client. Currently it is at 5.2.0.14 this needs an upgrade to 5.2.0.30 to resolve this problem."
In my most recent conversation with server admins, they suggested that the process is hardly ever used and can be safely shutdown.
So, question, does Opendeploy need this process?

Are you asking whether an OD 5.6 receiver running on AIX requires /usr/sbin/aixmibd? I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

Yeah that's what I'm asking. Ok well if you think the answer is no then we'll probably just kill the process.
Thanks, Brian.
