TS 6.1 Upgrade Testplan

thr_mezzaz

Hi all,

We are about to upgrade our TS 5.5.2 SP3 on Windows 2000 to 6.1. Would like to know if anyone who had done this can share with me a test plan for after the install is complete. I wish to compare it to what we are preparing to make sure we don't miss anything. We are new to TeamSite and could use a little help here. Thanks in advance.

We are in the same boat. We are planning for an upgrade( from TS 5.5.2 SP3 -> TS 6.1 SP1), but currently still in the process of testing on our test server. We are also on SP3, but if you are planning for an upgrade, there is no direct upgrade from SP3 to 6.1 and you would have to install the next service pack (SP4 or higher). I am also interested in knowing how your testing goes. One of the important requirement for us is not to use the new interface and use the Webdesk pro initially when we roll out 6.1 and then subsequently train users to use the new interfaces that come with 6.1. With the large user base and user's adamant for change, it is difficult for us to have all the users to use a different interface with the upgrade.

Thanks

Check this webcast link. It provides good information and some of the Q and A you might have with the upgrade path:

Thanks.

The upgrade suppliment bundle has a basic checklist. You can use that as a starting point to cater towards your implementation.

Although 6.x has some nice features and better UI, there might be some issues - depends on your implementation. Might be a good idea to scan through the forums for issues other people have faced.
