Formatted XML thru DCT saving

sabih

Is there a way to get formatted XML when saving a DCT . e.g.

DCT:

..

RESULTANT DCR:

...

Somewhere around 5.5.2, IWOV introduced a new option in iw.cfg

[teamsite_templating]
pretty_print_dcrs=true

It probably won't give you exactly the indenting and such you want, but at least it won't be on one big, ugly line anymore.

I am acutally looking to get a resultant custom XML without the
tag that usually comes up when a DCT is saved. I tried using "pathid" but have not noticed any difference in the output. Following is the code. and resultant:

<data-capture-requirements>
<ruleset root-name="a">
<root-container name="a" location="a">

<text size="80" maxlength="200">
</text>

</root-container>
</ruleset>
</data-capture-requirements>

Result:

<record name="abc" type="content">
<value>
<value>test</value>

</value>
</record>

You need to specify your dcr type as "xml" instead of "iwov" in templating.cfg.

Be sure to read the developers documentation to get an understanding of all the attributes, not just pathid.

Yes I have managed to do it a while back. The DCR type was supposed to be defined as "xml" in templating.cfg. The pathid did the rest. Thanks everyone.
