Editing a DCR does not display saved value
yanSi
We have version TS 6.5 installed and have been using 5.0 datacapture templates without problems. When we tried to make a datacapture template with datacapture6.0.dtd, we ran into problems.
The first problem is that we can't see the saved DCR when we edit it through TS, but we are able to see the values in the DCR through the file system.
The second problem is that datacapture stores DCR in 5.0 format.
We suspect is a configuration issue but we don't know what exactly.

When we tried to make a datacapture template with datacapture6.0.dtd...
What exactly did you do to use 6.0 DTD ?
Does this happen for new DCRs you create with 6.0 DTD ?
yanSi
To use the new 6.0 version we just wrote:
<!DOCTYPE data-cappture-requirements SYSTEM "datacapture6.0.dtd"> in the datacapture.cfg file.
Yes, it happens with new DCTs. We have not tried converting our existing 5.0 DCTs into 6.0 DCTs but I suspect it will not work for existing DCTs either.
It appears that even though we declare that we are using the 6.0 dtd, the generated xml file follows the 5.0 dtd.

Sorry, I misread your post... Yes, it happens with new DCRs.

My DCRs that use datacapture6.0.dtd have the following declaration:
<!DOCTYPE record SYSTEM "dcr4.5.dtd">
Is dcr4.5.dtd the correct dtd for a DCR that uses the datacapture 6 dtd?
I'm thinking that perhaps there's a newer version of the dtd but somehow it was accidentally deleted from our system. So when TS generates the xml file and can't find the dtd it wants, it just saves the dcr in a structure following the next newest dtd availiable.
If anyone has a newer version of the DTD for DCRs, can you post it? You can find the DTDs in iw-home\local\config.
Thanks

Are you on Windows? If so it could be something with IIS. I had the same thing where I am and since the client used Apache as the WWW server loaded the windows version of apache and the issue went away.
At one time there was a caching issue with IIS that I don't think has ever been fixed... anyway just an idea. If you want to try it just do the configuration for Apache out of the Solaris admin guide.

You want to check out your templating.cfg file to see if the type of template is set to "IWOV" or "XML". This is likely used to determine what format the output DCR is going to be generated in.
