Will it be possible to have e-mail notification in o.d. 5.6 User Interface.

There's no specific configuration directive for doing this, but you can use DNR scripts to send email after completion of a deployment (for success, failure, or both) - Is that what you were asking about?

The DNR script would need to either parse the in-memory logs ("old-style") or the manifest file ("new-style") or query the report database (new approach). It all depends on how you have things configured on the servers and which way you prefer to write the code.

If you look at the OD 5.6 Reference Guide - you should see:
Chapter 8 - OpenDeploy Manifest DTD
Chapter 9 - Information Stream Log Format DTD
Chapter 12 - Reporting Server Database Schema

You might also want to look at the section on DNR Properties (page 111 in my copy of the reference guide)

There's also some snippets of information in the 5.6 SP1 Release notes regarding IWXML.pm (p. 35) aspects of triggers for DNR scripts (p. 51) and updates to the DNR Properties information (p. 61). There are probably a number of other snippets of information available too - though you might want to run perldoc on ODHOME/solutions/perl/IWXML.pm for most of the information about using that module with [at least "old-style"] in-memory logs.
