Container Replicants

I happened to verify an implementation, (developed by my colleague) wherein , a container as a replicant (min='0' max='20') was embeded within another container.

The problem I observed with this structure is that, though the replicant container was defined to have zero instances (min='0') , the dct always renedred one instance of it.

Can any one please clarify, if a container/nested container has the limitations that it cannot have zero instances. If so , plaese do suggest a workaround to include a replicant whith zero default instancew with in a containre.

The environment used for development is : Solaris 5.8 and TS6.1.
