DataDeploy 6.0/Oracle CLOBS

Hello,

I'm trying to deploy large blocks of text to a clob column in my Oracle Database. However, whenever the size is larger than 4000 characters, it
throws up. I've tried adding a data-type="CLOB" to the dd config file I'm using for the specific column, but to no avail.

Has anyone seen this? is there something I'm missing here?

I'm using TeamSite 6.1 with DataDeploy 6.0

Yea, we hit the same issue. When we talked to support (DD 5.5.X) there is an incompatibility
with the JDBC code (from Oracle) and DD. Our choices were to either install the Oracle client
and use that or to use a preprocessor to do the insert (which is what we chose)

Not thrilled to see it still exists.

In the DD config file we have this:

<external-tuple-processor class-name="PagePreprocessor" interface-version="2.0" />

That references a Java routine in a library that does the Clob insertion (along with some other
things we needed). Our site has multiple tables that need updating when DD runs. It was
easiest to do a preprocessor.

Page 93-98 of the 5.5.1 DD Admin manual.

Migrateduser

I think this problem was fixed in a DD patch after 5.6 SP1 (bug #42490.) It should have carried forward to 6.0.

I suggest opening a case with Tech Support to verify whether the bug is indeed not fixed in 6.0.
