imported file marked as private
civ3
I'm importing some files into my workarea. To my surprise, all the files have been marked as "Private". I would expect them to be normal files within the workarea! To change them back to normal, I need to open them one by one and deselect "don't submit" attribute, very inconvenient. This happened in CCStd and CCPro.

It sounds like these files are getting "autoprivated". Check your autoprivate.cfg. Look for a pattern definition that your uploaded files would match.

It doesn't seems to be the case.
The files tried are a.html, ts.html, ts61releaseNote.pdf and WS_FTP.LOG
And the autoprivate.cfg is like this:
(
(
((.nfsXXX)(4)(0))
((zz_tstxxx)(6)(0))
((x.tmp)(0)(4))
((x.bak)(0)(4))
((~WRD1234.tmp)(3)(4)) [MS Word temp files]
((~$x.doc)(2)(4)) [MS other temp files]
)
(
((preview))
)
)
So it is really wired.

by chance what directory are you placing these in ?
Does it work in a different directory ?

I tried couple of different workareas and directories. All have the same result.

Open a support case - at this point I think it is too difficult for this to be resolved in the forums. However, please post a follow-up when you reach a resolution.

Hi
Some update on this isssue. We have found the culprit for this problem. It is caused by this line.
((x.tmp)(0)(4))
It is perfectly correct according to the manual. But it makes all imported files become private whenever it is added to autoprivate.cfg. This has been filed as a bug to interwoven.

Heh - it sounds like the files are initially imported with an extra '.tmp' extension before renamed into place without it - and it's the initial creation of the file that marks it private via the autoprivate.cfg and it stays that way after the rename. Neat little bug.
Thanks for the follow-up!

That explained why this particular extension has problem. So it looks like that only one extension would have this problem.
