OD 6.0.1 server to OD 5.6 rec error

Upgraded OD base server to 6.0.1, trying to check deployment to a 5.6 receiver (both Solaris)

Deployments are failing (one that worked before) with this in a log :

Not certain what the Deployment Group feature is, do not have anything like that in the xml.

Tips/pointers/RTFMs appreciated.

Try specifying the receiver version in the OD config using the "downrev" attribute of the execDeploymentTask element.

I just saw something else in the log:
"ENG: 2005-02-09 11:18:09 PST GMT-08:00 Thread-44 ***ERROR - Receiver didn't reply with ack, it replied: nack:5.6.0.1.0"

If the 5.6 does not work set the downrev to 5.6.0.1.0 (it may require this exactly)

Waiting for someone tolog into the receiver for me.

I did a search through the 6.0.1 docs (RN, Admin, and Reference) could not find any listing for downRev nor was is in the DTD.

OK, did some more research,

downRev was removed at 5.6

There was a bug like this, so I am following up with support.

Not certain what the Deployment Group feature is, do not have anything like that in the xml.

It probably has to do with the location of your deployment config.
Is it located at ODHOME/conf or ODHOME/conf/<some_dir> ?

See Admin Guide for "Deployment Group".

Deployment group means your deployment config is in a subdir under conf. Try moving it up to the conf dir.

The downrev attribute won't do anything. That was an old compatibility thing for deploying from 5.x to 4.x.

I believe there is a patch to OD 5.6 that you need to apply to the receivers in order to allow [file list] deployments to work from OD 6.0.1 -- not sure about non-filelist deployments - but we just ran into this at our site and applied the patch and it worked without a problem. I believe the patch changes the LIB component to build number 41496 (20041006)

I thought that this was the case but the Open Deploy 6.0.1 admin guide makes mention of Downward Revision Deployments for the execDeploymentTask element(page 98). What is this referring too?

Regarding cross-rev filelist deployments, the OD 5.6 node must have SP1 + patch 1519 (Windows), 1520 (Solaris), 1521 (AIX), 1522 (Linux), or 1523 (HP-UX).
