IPL API

cliffhanger

Hello,
Could anybody please tell me where I can find documentation on IPL(Interwoven perl) API?
Thanks,
Cliffhanger

I don't know of any comprehensive listing. Since you asked in the templating forum, you might try looking in at your-teamsite-server>http://your-teamsite-server/iw/help/tst/pt/ which has documentation on the various perl functions available via a presentation template.

Some other examples to get you started

perldoc TeamSite::Config
perldoc TeamSite:CRnode
perldoc TeamSite:CRparser
perldoc TeamSite::WFworkflow
perldoc TeamSite::WFtask

Look in the TeamSite directory under your iw-home/iw-perl directory (the exact location varies by platform/version). There you'll find the modules that implement the API.

Thanks dwayne!! One more question for you, how do I compile my .ipl file? Is there any tutorial available on that?
Thanks again!

perl is interpreted, do not need to compile it. Run it like a shell script.

What are you trying to do ?

cliffhanger

I want to run it and see if it works the way I intend to, before I incorporate that as a inline callout

If anybody knows, where can I find "cgi-lib.pl" API?
Thanks

There are several CGI libraries included with TS. These are with 5.5.X (Perl 5.005), CGI_Lite is pretty easy to use
so you may want to try it first.

find iw-perl -name "*CGI*" -print
iw-perl/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/TeamSite/CGI_lite.pm
iw-perl/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/TeamSite/WFspec/CGITask.pm
iw-perl/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/TeamSite/WFspec/Primitive/CGITask.pm
iw-perl/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/sun4-solaris/auto/CGI_Lite
iw-perl/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/CGI_Lite.pm
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/CGI.pm
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/CGI
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/man/man3/CGI.3
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/man/man3/CGI::Apache.3
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/man/man3/CGI::Carp.3
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/man/man3/CGI::Cookie.3
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/man/man3/CGI::Fast.3
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/man/man3/CGI: Smiley Tongue

ush.3
iw-perl/lib/perl5/5.00503/man/man3/CGI: Smiley Frustrated

Thanks nipper, but how would I test a .ipl if I want to test it individually?

iwperl myscript.ipl

Of course, iwperl either needs to be in your path, or you'll have to give the full path to it.

Thank you Rob

I just run it from commmand line:

#!/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl
print "Smitty is a loseer\n";

Save that to foo.xml, make it executable and run it like ./foo.xml
(for Unix)

If you use DOS, then there is a little more preprocessing to make perl run without invoking perl

For Windows - I believe the TeamSite installation automatically sets up the ftype and assoc for you.

I don't have a PC handy right now (I'm thankfully using my Mac ;-) but I believe it's something like:
C:\> ftype .ipl=iwperl
C:\> associ iwperl=c:\iw-home\iw-perl\bin\iwperl %1
(where c:\iw-home would be replaced with whatever path your iwhome directory is in)
(where %1 might be incorrect - perhaps %* - I can't remember)
