XML::LibXML in 6.1

Doing an upgrade.

The site has a perl script that ises XML::LibXML, specifically:

my $parser = new XML::LibXML;

My question is, how is LibXML parse different from say -
my $parser = new XML: Smiley Very Happy

OM:

arser;
Which is included with TS ?

Should I just download the lib ?

Tips/pointers/RTFMs greatly appreciated

I know it's not packaged with 6.1, but you should be able to install it without incident.

Where should I install it ? vendor/lib/XML ?

I thought there was a location for customer specific pm's but I cannot find it.

6.x - install into IWHOME/iw-perl/site/lib -- which if you can use the 'cpan' utility to download it - you can automate the process of getting it into the right place.

When you are installing the custom perl modules from the CPAN everythins will be place into the "site/lib" directory.

Correct me if I'm wrong but XML::LibXML will need some C libraries pre-installted (lixml2).

can you just copy the PM file into the XML directory in $iwhome/iw-perl/lib/vendor/XML or you have to download the zipped file and compile it?

First of all - it's vendor/lib not lib/vendor
Secondly, it's called vendor/lib because that's the location used by the vendor (Interwoven) to store their customizations to the vanilla perl distribution.

So - the answer to your question is basically "yes - but that would be wrong" - anything placed under vendor is subject to replacement/removal/change whenever you apply a patch or service pack from Interwoven.

You should copy the PM file into iw-perl/site/lib/XML, if the directory doesn't exist - create it. Files under site should remain untouched by the application of any patch or service pack from Interwoven.
