TS6.5 CCPro - Refresh button

Has anyone here managed to implement the information contained in KB 52622 to insert a refresh button into the CCPro UI?

I'm specifically interested in folks who have managed to do this for 6.5 - but I'll accept information from anyone on 6.x at this point.

I tried to follow the instructions in the KB article to implement it on 6.5, and although I used a different icon URI than what is propsed in the article (I don't know where that gif is supposed to exist?) - I cannot seem to get any refresh button to show up in my CCPro UI.

If you've managed to get it to work - please share the relevant portion of your ui_custom.xml (and/or any other UITK customization file) that enabled it.

Ahh fish... I just did this myself because it drove me crazy that there's no refresh button in 6.5 ( hello?!?! ). Btw, that KB article is worthless; the way that 6.5 is cfg'd it doesn't allow POSTing to .html pages, so basically you can't use the HTML page specified... however, you can if it's a custom .jsp file.. Smiley Happy

Here's the skinny:

1. Put your refresh icon in this directory:

<iwhome>/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/web/base/images
(i used the refreshIcon.gif).

2. Open up this file:

<iwhome>/httpd/webapps/content_center/teamsite/common/refresh_parent_and_close_window.html

3. Save it as a JSP in this directory:

<iwhome>/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/web/base/common/refresh_parent_and_close_window.jsp

4. Add this to ui_custom.xml ( merge into your xml )

You'll also notice that I removed the Search button from the file system menu bar.. that part isn't necessary to make the refresh button work, but i thought i'd leave it in there to show how that can be done ( it's not in the docs anywhere ).

I'm going to have to play with this a bit more - you helped me make some progress - like getting something to show up (apparently the KB neglected to inform me that I needed the <heading> part for the <link> I was adding (it mentions it for workflow - but I didn't care about the workflow view).

Unfortunately - right now, making some of your recommended changes - I get an icon (where did you get refreshIcon.gif from?) and I get a link that says "Refresh" - but when I click it it pops up a window with a 404 error.

Maybe I'll have time to look at it next week.

I was really excited while I was able to implement this refresh button based on the instructions posted by Shanon. I added the button on both the iw.ccpro.filesys.heading (where the "Get Latest", "Import" buttons are) and the iw.ccpro.workflow.heading (on the workflow tab, where the new job button is).

However, the buttons do not work all the time. From the CCPRO Content tab, if I log out of TeamSite, then log in again, then try to click this new "Refresh" button right away, I still get the message:
The page cannot be refreshed without resending the information. Click Retry to send the information again...

This is the same as if I click the browser's refresh button (IE).

If I go to the workflow tab, the new refresh button seems to work all the time.

I implemented refresh on the content tab by adding this to the ui_custom.xml file:

It seems to be working well so far in my testing. It only refreshes the list frame, not the tree frame, but that's ok with me since the current vpath is selected in the tree frame.
