RPC and NFS Mount
artor
Hi,
I installed TS 6.1 on my prod box in Solaris 5.8 environment but when i reboot the machine in order to activate all the services of teamsite but they won't run and then i try to run iw.server manually it shows that rpc service is not running which also effect nfs service as well so then i start the rpc and nfs services first before running the interwoven server.
In this regard, my question is that rpc service and nfsd service are more related to unix issue which supposed to run whenever the solaris reboot by themselves or its a teamsite issue.
I would really appreciate your help in this regard.
Regards,

I found the article
rpcbind must be running for TeamSite to start-up correctly on Solaris
Knowledge Base Article: 47456
that should help me out.
Thanx.

both rpcbind and nfsd have to be configured to run on reboot - before TeamSite -- not all Solaris systems are configured this way (either by default, or via local security measures or something like that)

Hi,
rpcbind and nfsd are configured to run out of the box on Solaris. Many sys-admins
comment them in /etc/services due to rpc security issues (buffer overflows), and
policies not allowing NFS services. Please note that by uncommenting the entries
in services, they may not start anyway as crafty (thorough) sys-admins may also
remove or modify /etc/init.d and rcx.d startup scripts; /etc/init.d/nfs.server, and /etc/init.d/rpc.

I just followed the article in my above post and make the hard link inside rc2.d directory for rcd service and then after rebooting it all set.
Thanks for your nice feedback.
