friends,
Is there anyway for doing "copy thumbnails" while uploading asset to mediabin server.
Aim is to show “EPS path clipped Asset” preview as well as Original EPS asset. Default preview is “EPS path Clipped asset ” preview and need to allow the user to have a preview on original also.
Is it possible to do the about with only one copy of EPS Asset or should I have 2 copy of EPS Asset, that is one original EPS and EPS with Path Clipped.
Need some good solution for the above.
Thanks In advance
Shiv

I may have missed the intent and so I apologize in advance for any confusion. Is the goal to insert asset A and at the same time have its thumbnail copied to asset B (presumably already in MediaBin?). Is asset B a placeholder (i.e., empty) asset?
The API and clients give one the ability to specify an insertion task which enables one to change the thumbnail on the way in. This functionality is used in many cases for things like watermark addition as for some customers an unadulterated 512x512 preview is almost as valuable as having the original asset. Unfortunately, as was discussed in another thread, the one primitive to which one does not have access on insertion (okay not the only primitive, but the only one with interesting image transformation abilities!) is the AGS Encoder which is the "catch-all" for scripting otherwise unexposed AGS capabilities (such as applying clipping paths).
Thumbnail copying is available from asset A (or a sub layer of asset A) to an asset B. This includes the case in which a layer (frame, slide, page...) or asset A other than the first is used to represent the glocal preview of A. For example, some videos begin with a fade in from black so their first frame is pretty boring. It is not available as part of insertion but must be acomclpished in a separate call to the server (of course script writers are free to make it part of a single user action).
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
