getting the attached file list

I have added a new item in the file menu. On the click of this item, a cgi script is called.Now I want get the list of the files which user had selected before the click of the item.How can I get the list?

Already responded to in another forum - go look for the answer and please try not to cross-post (I understand the desire - but the forums don't provide functionality suitable for responding to cross-posted articles and you end up adding more "noise" than anything else)
