Directory for local file copies

TeamSite LaunchPad unlike MS Source Safe only alows you to download and edit files conforming to TeamSites branching structure.

Is there a way, or what would you do, to get the local files when editing to a defined directory structure unlike that of TeamSite?

Our editors want to be able to download and edit files in thier root C:\Inetpub\website\asps
rather than C:\Inetpub\cmsserver\cache\default\main\website\WORKAREA\myworkarea\asps

I am not sure that this type of LaunchPad configuration is possible, but it may be possible to set up an NTFS "junction" to make this work properly for them.

I guess you could set up a custom menu item to robocopy/opendeploy/etc., or there may be some pointers in this thread:

It's something like DOS subst or Unix ln - it makes a filesystem in one place appear duplicated in another place. I've never really used it, just read about it. Note that the IWFS does not support junctions (which I don't understand as it's supposed to look like NTFS to the OS) - you can only set up junctions on the clients. Not even sure what versions of Windows support junction, if M$ even supports it anymore, but it might be worth a google.

If you're configuring LaunchPad to download the files before
editing (to IWTemp) then it wants to manage the cache itself.

I suppose you could change the LaunchPad file associations
to invoke your own script to do whatever you want...
