Username Alias

Is there a way to "alias" a username to something else? Our usernames for our TS install use Active Directory id's that are numbers (example: domain\55555). I was wondering if there was a config file somewhere that would make these annoying, hard to remember, id's more friendly.

Something like this:

domain\55555 | John Smith

or

domain\55555 | jsmith

etc...

In Workflows - not OOTB but you can with some customization.

Now that we have a little idea of what you are talking about ...
Do you want to display the names instead of ids in the workflow instantiator screen where you might be selecting contributors, approvers, etc. ? - This can be done

If you are talking about displaying the name instead of ids in the workflow tab of UI ? I doubt if this can be done.
