I have a dct where I have 2 replicants. 1st replicant will have category names and 2nd replican will have listing of products (pulling from product dcr's).

Use will select the category name and select all the related products for that category.

In the tpl. I have to show all the category names as hyperlink and show the list of products underneath. Also the category name should be highlighted.

Attached is a detailed doc.

Any suggestions, tips, sample code greatly appreciated.

Your attachment didn't come through and you might want to rephrase your problem statement.

Where is the data that is populating the drop-downs, just in the DCRs, in XML, DB or what? Seems like the TPL could access the same data pretty easily. If you're hard-coding those values in the DCT (please don't!) your TPL could even parse the DCT.

Select Product Category (Replicant)

User will select the category and couple of products for that category

Now in the tpl, I have to make hyperlink for all categories and also highlight which category is selected. When you click on category name, it should take to product listing. I already have product list part here. just need to find the anchor links for category to jump with the related products

Hi, not clear where your DCT is getting the list of categories (are those templating categories?) but it sounds like products is from an inline that is scanning some DCT's data directory. Couldn't your PT just use the same data as the inlines?

So you are using a combination of an outer <iw_iterate> for the categories and an inner <iw_iterate> for the products. Are you asking how to create anchor tags for the categories in the output file using the tpl? At the top of your output file is there some listing of categories that need to link to the category-product combo you have listed above?

Or maybe I'm just confused in what your output file is supposed to look like versus what the tpl is doing to generate the output file.

The category names I am getting from another dcr(entered in a replicant) as an inline callout here.

The product listing I am getting from another dct (going thur data dir to pull all the product dcr's).

use will create a new dcr to select the category and select all the related products.

Now in the tpl, I got to show all category names as hyperlinks and when they click on particular category it should take to that category and list of products (anchor links). I guess this makes more clearly

This sounds more like a basic HTML question coupled with how to implement it via a PT.

If my HTML is up-to-snuff I believe you want to make sure that each category section has an anchor (<a name="cat1">) and at the top of the page where you list the categories you use a link (<a href="#cat1">) - thus if you click on "cat1" at the top it will attempt to scroll the window so that the "cat1" section is at the top of the window (note - you'll probably want to put an anchor at the top too and have links back to it after each section).

Assuming you've figured out how to output the content of the page - all you need to do is adjust that output to include the HTML directives for anchors and links - yes? Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Thanks for the tip. it is working fine. Now I am getting list of categories with hyperlink and it jumps to related products. I am getting output like this

cat1 || cat2
Product_1
product_2

cat1 || cat2

Product_1
product_2

Now when I click on cat1, it takes to cat1 but I want to hightlight cat1 instead of underscore, something like this
cat1 || cat2

note : cat is a replicant value and product is nested replicant value.

Not sure what you're asking here - but I think you're back to basic HTML formatting issues. If need be - use an HTML editor to create a mock-up of what you want the page to look like, then look at the HTML code for that page and use similar code in your PT.
