DBI

I was trying to install the DBD Smiley Very Happy

B2 module and I think I accidentally deleted my DBI module.

I installed PPM so that I could do these commands

# Install the DBI module if you have not already done so, by issuing the following command (the DBI module is a prerequisite for the DBD: Smiley Very Happy

B2 module):

ppm install http://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/DBI/5.8.4/DBI.ppd

# Install the DBD: Smiley Very Happy

B2 module by issuing the following command:

ppm install http://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/DBI/5.8.4/DBD-DB2.ppd

from : http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/db2/perl/

I ran ppm removed DBI and then tried the above command

and I get back no intended for this build of perl (MSWin32-x86-multi)

So now I have a broken DBI and I still don't have DBD Smiley Very Happy

B2 installed.. Any help would be appreciated

I looked in the c:\iw-home\iw-perl\vendor\lib directory and looks like DBI is still there...

So that is good, but I still need to install DBD Smiley Very Happy

B2. So if you have any tips on that. That would be good. The windows machine teamsite is on does not have a C compiler on it.

You need to get an installer on it - if you can't get something like the MSSDK installed (which I believe includes nmake and a compiler of sorts - then you might consider installing Cygwin on there - with gnu make, gcc, etc.

Then - rather than using PPM - try using cpan (make sure you're running it from IWHOME/iw-perl/bin/ -- just in case you have another perl distribution installed on your machine somewhere).
