Web CMS (TeamSite)
External TeamSite Authentication
oroque
Hi,
I am using TS 6.1.0 and would like to externally authenticate a user using a custom script in CGI/Perl/JavaScript. Is this possible? If so, how would I go about doing this?
Basically, a user would hit index.cgi or whatever front-end page, enter a username, password, role, etc. and then this newly customized script would come into play and, once authenticated, the user will be forwarded to the Content Center page.

umm .... It should be possible with Perl. Definetely Java will work.
Look into the ContentServices. Basically it is a web service that integrates with TS. The java API is provided and you can generate perl stubs too.
There was a post about perl using web services some time ago.

Hi Oscar..
We have other customers who have built such custom login functionality. You can build your own custom login page as a customer toolkit (refer to the UI customizations guide) and from within that custom page, you can authenticate the user against TeamSite using the CSSDK APIs and after executing your custom post login functionality, you can redirect the user to the Content Center UI.
thanks
