browser element

Hi

I want to use the browser element in a form but have it point outside of the workarea. Something like:
<browser extns=".ppt" initial-dir="c:\images" />

But the browser element won't a allow anything outside of the workarea. Is there any way around this??

Not witin a <browser> element, no.

This has been covered, as Carl Sagan might have said, "Billions and billions" of times. Search through the archives. What most people end up doing is writing a custom CGI to browse to the locations that they want.

However, even if <browser> did allow browsing outside of the workarea, I don't think it would help you. Based on your example, you want the user to browse outside of the TeamSite IFS altogether. Remeber, <browser> only allows you to point to a file - it won't copy the contents of that file into TeamSite. It's NOT a file upload facility.
