author_submit_dcr not unlocking

nico

Trying to edit the default "author_submit_dcr.wft" file so that when an editor appoves the submission the file unlocks and gets submitted but I'm having no luck. Can some one take a look and tell me if i'm doing something wrong?

thanks

So, are you saying you want to invert the order of the submittask and the externaltask that does the unlock or are you saying that you want the tasks in the order you have them, but something isn't working?

On a quick read through, nothing jumps out at me as being wrong with the wft you have if it's the latter. Could you be more specific about the problem you are encountering?

Can you post (as an attachment) your modified wft?

Current Environment(s):

(2) TS 6.1 SP1 on W2K
(3) TS 5.5.2 SP2 on Win2K

sure the process is:
author edits page
author submits changed dcr
editor approves changed dcr
approved dcr should be submitted to staging at this point however this is where the problem arises. The author still retains the lock so submission to staging cannot occur.

Dave,

Its attached in my first post, appreciate any help.

Have you tried just changing the owner of the submittask to just be the author? If you don't want to go that route, changing the order of the submit and unlock tasks is pretty trivial

    <!-- Unlock submitted files. -->
    <externaltask
                  name="Unlock"
                  owner="__TAG__('iw_user');"
                  description="Unlock submitted files."
                  >
        <areavpath v="__INSERT__($areavpath);"/>
        <successors>
            <successorset description="Unlock Complete">
<succ v="Submit"/>
            </successorset>
        </successors>
        <command v='__INSERT__($externalcmd[1]);'/>
        <activation>
<pred v="Review"/>
        </activation>
    </externaltask>

    <submittask
                name="Submit"
                owner="__TAG__('iw_areaowner');"
                description="Submit Data Content Records"
                >
        <areavpath v="__INSERT__($areavpath);"/>
        <successorset description="Submit Complete">
<succ v="End"/>
        </successorset>
        <activation>
<pred v="Unlock"/>
        </activation>
    </submittask>

'Author's cannot own submittasks (unless they are logged in as an Author but also have the ability to login with a higher-level role)

I noticed in the teamsite admin gui that i've got "When submitting locked files" set to "Must be owner or creator of lock".

Would this be an issue? Do most of you have that set? TS552 win2k.

Thanks,
Nico

There is an iw.cfg setting under the [iwsever] section that you can specify:
only_lock_owner_creator_submits=yes or only_lock_owner_creator_submits=no

In your case, it sounds like you want to make sure it's set to 'no' - then run iwreset - and then see if the unlock="t" in the submittask does what you want.
