Server side includes not working in one branch

NathansDIS

Hello-

I have 2 branches on my TS 6.1/Win2k server that are rendering server side includes without any problem. When I tried to add another branch to the iwproxy_plugin_remap section of iw.cfg, the added branch does not render the SSI s properly and gives a 404 where each ssi is called. I have even tried the same file that fails in the Management_Services branch in the Executive_Administration and Executive_Media_Releases branches and the file works fine so I have eliminated the File and the Webserver. Anyone have any ideas for me? any and all comments are much appreciated.

Thx,

Did you try to run proxy in debug mode ?
You can add the following to your iw.cfg to enable ISAPI logging.

[iwproxy_plugin_remap]
_debug=true

FYI-

I did do a iwreset after changing iw.cfg. Do I need to reboot the server to refresh the ssi dll in teamsite? Am I missing something here? Thx, n

Restart IIS (or whichever is your preview webserver)

NathansDIS

I did try that before, but the output file was not in the location specified in the documentation. I will try it again and see what happens. Thx, n

ya, iis restart seems to have cleared up the issue. Thx a ton for the help. -nathan

Just 'iwreset' or 'iwreset -ui' or 'iwreset -a' ?

In order for proxy changes to take effect, you need to stop/start the proxy server - which can usually be done distinct from iwreset, though I believe 'iwreset -a' will accomplish it as well. (I'm not on a Windows 6.1 machine right now, so I'm not sure if there is an different way - it used to be:
- net stop iwproxy
- net start iwproxy)

I have been using iwreset -a and it does restart the iwproxy service. Thx for the sanity check fish

Documentation issue or misconception ?

./iwreset -v

iwreset: 6.1.0 Build 36267 Interwoven 20040610

./iwreset -h

Usage: iwreset [-h|-v|-ui [-n] [start|stop]|-a]
Resets iwserver or the UI servers, which includes servlet engine,
OpenAPI, iwproxy and iwwebd. Exits with 0 on success,
        non-zero on failure.

-a Reset iwserver and all UI servers.
        -h Prints this message.
        -v Print program verion information.
-ui Stops and starts the UI servers.
-n Print what would be done, but don't actually do it.
start Just start the UI servers.
stop Just stop the UI servers.
