Submit files/directory for deletion

I am trying to delete a director from STAGING, the content has been move to a sub folder however the old directory still shows. So I try to delete the directory and then submit it to STAGING, however I keep receiving the following error "Checked out files prevent submitting" eventhough I unlock all files in the directory. Any advised will be great thanks.

Try doing an iwlistmod & iwlistlocks for that branch to see if anyone has any files within that directory locked or modified in their workareas.

I try doing the iwlistmod and it return a list of files. I then try unlocking does files and they still show as modified is there a way I can remove the modified user so I can delete the files and directory.

You can try doing an iwupdate (with overwrite) for those files in the affected areas ... maybe that will help clean up the reference counts.

Hi,
Any help is appreciated for the following problme. THis problem is same as, but some how those solutions are not helping me.
We are using TS6.1 on Unix

I have simple workflow to submit and deploy which works fine except in some cases throwing the following error message after the submit task:
"Checked out files prevent submitting".

I tired in the following scenarios, still no USE. I know some of them had this kind of problem, I would appreciate, if you share the solution.

1. Previously, we had another workarea for back-up, there we had some files and folders which is deleted in current workarea. When I got this problem, I thought may be the problem with other workarea. I deleted the back-up workarea, still getting the same problem.

2. ran some cmd lines, such as iwlistmod/listlocks/iwunlock properly and ran iwsubmit with -w, -u and -x options.whenever I run the iwsubmit, i get the above message and same thing happening thru workflow.

Is there any way to delete file/foldersfrom staging?? I tired by deleting them first in workarea and submit them, which did't work.

Pls help me!!!

When you did iwlistmod, iwlistlocks, etc. did you do them at the *branch* level - or the *workarea* level?
If you deleted a workarea - you might have had some locked / modified files in that workarea and TeamSite isn't always great about cleaning up that kind of state (it should be, but I believe it isn't always).

You might have to re-create the workarea, do a GetLatest with overwrite selected, and then verify that there aren't any files locked within it.

Aside from that - you might have to work with support, but it's difficult trying to diagnose this kind of problem remotely
